Calming Them Down

If your kids are like mine they sometimes take some time to calm down before we can get them into bed for a good night’s sleep.  What is a better way to calm them down than to sing some soft lullabies.  Songs can truly soothe children and calm their nerves.  Many kids have an anxiety about going to bed, whether it be because of being left alone to sleep, or because they hate the dark, or think that their are monsters in their closet or under their bed. They may have some anxiety associated with bedtime and the softly sung, soothing lullabies can help to calm their nerves, and lull them to sleep.  bedtime

So, whether you sing them yourself, have them sing along or pop a cd into the player to listen to, singing is a great way to calm your kids and make bedtime less of a struggle for all of you.  Why not invest in a personalized lullaby CD to make this time even more special for your child.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Published by admin under Personalized Lullaby Music

I heard the cutest story about a child and lullabies the other day.  Their mom had always sung “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to them when it was time to go to sleep.  At naptime or at bedtime this was the song of choice so the child began to associate “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” with going to sleep.  Later, they suddenly began to cry at church one day when a teacher suggested they sing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” because she thought it meant they’d have to go to sleep.twinkle twinkle

That’s a cute story and it truly illustrates the power of lullabies in a child’s life.  THey really can be soothing, calming and a wonderful way to get your little ones to fall asleep.  SInging lullabies seems to be part of tradition as well.  A lullaby song gets passed down from one generation to the next and becomes “popular” amongst a particular family and known as the “lullaby” song.
