Listening to Music In the Car
Play dates are an important part to a child’s development. While my kids were toddlers we set aside three days a week to meet other toddlers for a play date. Sometimes that meant driving to parks, or meeting in a large air conditioned room at the church where they could run around, or even swimming in a blow up pool during hot summer days. These times were as beneficial to Moms as it was to the kids.
Whatever we had planned it usually meant driving in the car. While we were in the car the kid would always want to listen to “their” music. This was a lifesaver as a Mom because the kids were so engrossed in singing the songs, laughing and playing while we were driving; this made driving more enjoyable. What the kids did not know was through music they were also learning. As the play date came to an end and we were returning home, the music helped keep them awake so they would all take good naps at home. Music was such a lifesaver in the car.
