Making Music a Part of Life

My 4 year old son loves music. He often sings while playing, at bedtime or even in the car. Of course he wants me to sing along. Music can be an important part of a child’s life. It is proven to help with learning and development. So, making sure that music is a daily part of your child’s life can be a positive choice for any parent to make in their household.

Music can be valuable in the life of a child at almost any age. It can soothe a baby to sleep, light up a smile on the face of a toddler, and help a preschooler to learn his ABC’s. You can incorporate it into your baby, toddler or preschooler’s life through lullabies, singing catchy learning tunes or even through creating your own music. What child wouldn’t love beating a drum, clanging some cymbals or tapping out a tune on a toy piano or keyboard?drum

You can even teach your child to use their own hands and feet clapping or stomping out a beat. Learning rhythms can be an important part of a child’s development. Children are never too young to begin experiencing or enjoying music. They can begin to benefit from it even before they are born, so mommies bring out that CD player and listen to those lullabies, let your toddler bang the drums, and sing learning songs with your preschooler, it will only help them as the grow and learn while enjoying the joy of music all the while.
